EHS ComplianceThe Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) on November 28, 2024, issued a circular regarding the exemption request for persons with Disabilities using adopted vehicles.

A request has been received seeking an exemption for persons with disabilities to use adopted BS-III petrol vehicles during GRAP Stage III and IV, when there is a ban on such vehicles. The request cites practical difficulties, such as inaccessibility of public transport, lack of accessible pavements at metro stations, and ride-hailing service cancellations, which affect daily commuting. After reviewing these challenges, the Commission has decided to allow the use of BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel vehicles for persons with disabilities as an exception during the restriction period under GRAP Stage III and above. Enforcement agencies in Delhi-NCR will be advised to permit these vehicles for personal use by persons with disabilities.
