The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on November 29, 2024, notified regarding the extension in the timeline to obtain fresh NISM Certification under Regulation 7(2) of SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013.
The BSE has extended the deadline for Investment Advisers (IAs) to obtain their NISM certification. Originally, a one-time extension was provided until November 30, 2024, for IAs whose base certification (NISM XA or XB) was expiring. However, due to ongoing amendments to the SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013, which will change the certification requirements, the deadline has been further extended to December 31, 2024, or until the new amendments are notified, whichever comes first. This extension applies to IAs whose base certification expired or is expiring between August 28, 2024, and December 31, 2024.
