The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) on November 29, 2024, issued a notification regarding the settlement of physical claims without seeding of Aadhaar for certain classes of members.
The following has been stated: -
•The EPFO has issued instructions for settling claims without Aadhaar seeding for certain members, including International Workers who left India without Aadhaar, Indian workers who migrated and acquired foreign citizenship, and citizens of Nepal or Bhutan working in India.
•These members can process their claims with alternate identification documents like passports or citizenship certificates.
•UAN must still be generated if not already available, and due diligence should be followed to verify eligibility before processing claims.
