Industry Specific ComplianceThe Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on November 28, 2024, issued the circular regarding Occurrence Reporting.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The primary objective of occurrence reporting is to monitor, share, and document critical or potentially critical safety incidents for analysis. It aims to identify contributing factors and enhance system resilience against similar errors.

• It provides additional guidance for the mandatory reporting of reportable occurrences.

• It states that reports shall be submitted within 72 hours of identifying the condition unless exceptional circumstances arise. The 72-hour period begins when awareness of the occurrence occurs. 

• It states that final analysis results shall be reported to the relevant RAO/SRAO within 90 days of the occurrence notification.
