The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) on November 29, 2024, notified the Writing and Printing Papers, Coated Paper, and Board (Quality Control) Order 2024.
The following has been stated: -
•Rule 2 specifies Conformity to the standard and compulsory use of Standard Mark.
•Rule 3 specifies Certification and enforcement authority.
•Rule 4 specifies that any person who contravenes the provisions of this Order shall be punishable under the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
It shall come into force on the expiry of one hundred and eighty days from November 29, 2024.
