EHS ComplianceThe Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) on November 05, 2024, issued a notification regarding compliance with the directions under the Plastic Waste Management (Second Amendment) Rules, 2022.

The following has been stated: -

•The Plastic Waste Management (Second Amendment) Rules, 2022, mandate a minimum thickness of 50 microns for certain plastic sheets, with exceptions for compostable plastics. 

•Non-woven plastic carry bags must be at least 60 GSM. Certain single-use plastics, including polystyrene items and plastic cutlery, are prohibited from July 01, 2022. 

•Compostable and biodegradable plastics are exempt from some of these regulations.
