The Commission of Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) on December 02, 2024, notified regarding the Prevention and mitigation of Air Pollution from Construction & Demolition activities in the NCR.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It outlines ongoing issues with non-compliance and ineffective implementation of statutory directions related to dust pollution by project proponents in the NCR.
• It empowers authorities to prosecute project proponents for gross violations of dust and air pollution controls, impose penalties, and shut down non-compliant sites in the NCR.
• It further states that authorities shall strictly comply with the Commission's directives and submit monthly progress and complaint status reports.
