The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) on December 06, 2024, issued Draft Environment Protection (Extended Producer Responsibility for Packaging made from paper, glass, and metal as well as sanitary products) Rules, 2024.
The following has been stated: -
•Rule 2 specifies the Application of the rules.
•Rule 3 specifies various definitions of the terms like End of Life disposal and Pre-consumer packaging waste.
•Rule 4 specifies the obligated Entities.
The Objections or suggestions may be submitted within sixty days from December 09, 2024.
They shall come into force from April 01, 2026.
