The Labour Department, Rajasthan on November 25, 2024, issued the Variable Dearness Allowance payable according to the Engineering Wage Board recommendations.
As per recommendations of the Engineering Wage Board Variable Dearness Allowance is to be worked out on the basis of All India Consumer Price Index Numbers Base Year 1949=100. In absence of this series linking factor 2.88 worked out by Labour Bureau, Shimla between the 2001 and 2016, linking factor 4.63 between the 1982 and 2001, linking factor 4.93 between 1960 and 1982 and linking factor 1.2154 between 1949 and 1960 (already exist) have been taken into account to work out All India Consumer Price Index Numbers Base Year 1949=100 for period from April, 2024 to September 2024.
The calculated Consumer Price Index Numbers are provided in the Table.
Previous average for the period October, 2023 to March, 2024 is 11097 points and average for the period from, April, 2024 to September, 2024 is 11310 Thus there is an increase of 213 points in the average indices for the period under review as compared to the previous period.
