Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Andhra Pradesh on December 02, 2024, amended the A.P. Excise Act, 1968 related to the Compounding of Offences. 

The following has been stated: -

•The Andhra Pradesh Government has amended the Excise Act regarding the compounding of offenses. MRP violations and Belt Shop offenses by shop licensees may be compounded for Rs. 5 Lakhs for the first offense; subsequent violations will lead to license cancellation. 

•The previous orders (GO Ms. No. 12, January 08, 2018) continue to apply except for MRP violations and Belt Shops. Bar licensee, offences will be handled as per Section 47(1) of the Excise Act.
