The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer's Welfare, (MoAFW) on December 09, 2024, issued a notification regarding the Notification of Recognized Breeds of Livestock and Poultry in India.
In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Government of India, under PART III, Sl. No. 7 of the Allocation of Business Rules, the Central Government has decided, in the public interest, to recognize specific breeds of livestock and poultry.
The breeds, specified in column (3) alongside their Accession Numbers in column (5), belong to species mentioned in column (2) and are associated with the States listed in column (4) of the accompanying Table. These breeds are notified as the recognized breeds across India for purposes including animal husbandry, production, breeding, conservation, utilization, consumption, and trade.
This notification takes effect from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette of the Government of India. Table is attached to the document.
