The Government of Himachal Pradesh on December 09, 2024, issued the Himachal Pradesh Excise (Amendment) Act, 2024, to further amend the Himachal Pradesh Excise Act, 2011.
This shall come into force on December 09, 2024.
The following has been amended namely: -
• In section 2 after clause (w), a new clause shall be inserted “(wa) “spurious liquor” means liquor made by improper distillation;”.
• In section 40, the words “six months but which may extend to five years and with fine which shall not be less than fifty thousand rupees but which may extend to two lakh rupees”, shall be substituted with the words “three years and with fine of three lakh rupees”.
• In section 47, the words “may extend to one thousand rupees”, shall be substituted with the words “shall not be less than ten thousand rupees”.
• In section 53, in the proviso, before the words “non-bailable”, the words “cognizable and” shall be inserted.
• In section 68 (2), the words, signs, and number “an order passed by the Collector, under sub-section (1)”, shall be substituted with the words “an original or appellate order passed by the Collector”.
