The Government of India on December 11, 2024, issued the Bharatiya Vayuyan Adhiniyam, 2024.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It shall extend to the whole of India and applies to Indian citizens, aircraft, and persons on aircraft registered in India or abroad but present in India, and aircraft operated by non-citizens with a principal place of business or permanent residence in India.
• It states that the Aircraft Act of 1934 shall be repealed.
• Chapter II states the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
• Chapter III states the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security.
• Chapter IV states the Aircraft Accidents Investigation Bureau.
• Chapter VI states the Payment of Compensation for Loss or Damage.
• Chapter VII states the Offences and Penalties.
