The Kerala State Pollution Control Board, (KeralaSPCB), on March 27, 2024, issued a notification regarding Validity of Environmental Clearance (EC) of quarries obtained from DEIAA.
As per the circular dated 07/02/2024 cited 1st the validity of Environmental Clearances (ECs) granted by DEIAAs were fixed. Now vide OM cited 2nd MoEF&CC has clarified that the validity of ECs granted by DEIAAs is extended to 6 more months till October 27, 2024.
Therefore based on OM dated March 15, 2024, ECs granted by DEIAAs for quarries valid as on date (28/04/2023) shall continue to be valid up to 27/10/2024 unless the validity of the EC granted by DEIAA has expired before October 28, 2024 or SEIAA has invalidated the EC granted by DEIAA after carrying out reappraisal; and Consent applications shall be processed accordingly. An undertaking in stamp paper worth Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only) from the applicant stating that SEIAA has not invalidated EC shall be submitted along with the consent application
