Industry Specific ComplianceThe Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on December 12, 2024, issued a notification regarding the launch of the Sanchar Saathi Portal to Combat Fraud and Unsolicited Communications.

•DoT launched the Sanchar Saathi portal to empower citizens, including the Chakshu facility to report fraud communications and Unsolicited Commercial Communications (UCC). 

•DoT takes action on mobile connections, handsets, bulk SMS senders, and WhatsApp accounts based on reports. 

•The portal also helps address spoofed international calls and enforces regulations to block UCC. TRAI's measures include blacklisting entities, penalizing violators, and taking action against unregistered telemarketers.
