EHS ComplianceThe Kerala State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) on September 30, 2024, issued an erratum in a circular on Bringing Hotels & Restaurants established before 30/06/2015 into Consent purview.

The board issued a Circular dated July 08, 2024, stating that Hotels and restaurants that obtained an occupancy certificate from the Local self-government institution on or before June 30, 2015 and have not yet obtained 'Consent to operate' can apply for the first Consent to operate by remitting 5.5 times the annual fee based on capital investment.

However the term 'occupancy certificate' is found inaccurate as per the context. Hence, the term 'occupancy certificate' is hereby replaced with 'necessary permission/clearance/ completion certificate/ license from Town Planning or LSGls'.
