Industry Specific ComplianceThe Lok Sabha on December 13, 2024, issued the Merchant Shipping Bill, 2024.

The following has been stated: -

•Section 2 specifies the Application of Act.

•Section 3 lays down various definitions of the terms like abandoned seafarer and abandoned vessel.

•Section 4 specifies the Establishment of the National Shipping Board.

•It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint, and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act.
