The Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB) on October 21, 2024, issued a notification regarding registration under E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022.
The following has been stated: -
•Producers, Manufacturers, Recyclers, and Refurbishers in Odisha are required to register on the CPCB's E-Waste EPR portal under the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022, effective from April 1, 2023.
•The rules mandate compliance with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations and scientific e-waste management. Failure to register may result in penalties or Environmental Compensation under the Environment Protection Act, of 1986.
