The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) on December 17, 2024, notified regarding the Crop Damage Assessment System for Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana – PMFBY.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that YES-TECH, a technology-based yield estimation system for paddy, wheat, and soybean, was introduced from Kharif 2023 to ensure accurate, transparent, and timely crop loss assessment and claim settlement in 10 states, guided by the YESTECH Manual, 2023.
• It further states that the YESTECH Manual outlines roles, responsibilities, timelines, penalties, and grievance mechanisms, with the Government of India retaining authority to ensure transparency, accountability, and accurate yield assessments.
