Secretarial ComplianceThe Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on December 16, 2024, issued an update in the Master Direction - Reserve Bank of India [Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) and Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR)] Directions – 2021.

The following has been updated namely: -

• The provision for Maintenance of CRR has been updated, it states that the CRR for scheduled banks, cooperative banks, and Local Area Banks will reduce progressively from 4.50% to 4.25% on December 14, 2024, and to 4.00% on December 28, 2024, based on their NDTL.

• Provision 23A has been added for the presentation of Reverse Repo transactions in the Form ‘A’ return, it states that Commercial banks shall report Reverse Repo transactions in Form 'A' based on counterparty type and tenor, with specific categories for inter-bank and non-bank transactions.
