The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on July 19, 2024, issued a notification regarding Filing of Property Tax Returns under the One-Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme.
The following has been stated: -
•The BBMP has introduced a simplified procedure for property tax payment under the One-Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme, allowing property holders in the exempted category to file self-assessments.
•The revised circulars (dated December 26, 2023 and July 12, 2024) permit citizens to pay property tax based on their exemption claims, with full responsibility for accuracy.
•BBMP reserves the right to verify and revise returns. Zonal Joint Commissioners will oversee the implementation of this scheme.
