The Ministry of Communications (MoC) on December 16, 2024, issued the Post Office Rules, 2024.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The Services to be provided by Post Office (Domestic/Foreign) has been stated in the notification.
• The Director General is authorised to –
o Introduce new products, or modify or discontinue any products related to the services specified
o Enter into a collaboration with public or private entities in respect of services specified.
• The Postal Services Board shall be the apex level policy making body.
• The Central Government may constitute a Philatelic Advisory Committee which shall advice that Government on issues of commemorative and special postage stamps and other allied matters related thereto.
