The Ministry of Home Affairs, (MHA), on December 18, 2024, issued modifications in Haryana Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1974.
The following has been stated-
The Central Government has extended the Haryana Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1974, to the Union territory of Chandigarh, with certain modifications. These modifications include the insertion of the phrase "as extended to the Union territory of Chandigarh" in section 1(1) and the substitution of "Union territory of Chandigarh" for "State of Haryana" in various sections. Additionally, in section 2(b), the reference to the "Government of the State of Haryana" is replaced with "Administrator of the Union territory of Chandigarh," and section 10 also reflects this substitution.
