The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) on December 16, 2024, issued the Draft Gas Cylinders (Amendment) Rules, 2024, to further amend the Gas Cylinders Rules, 2016.
The following has been amended namely: -
• Rule 2 which states “Definitions” the following has been inserted namely: -
“(xlia) “Micro and Small Enterprises” means an enterprise defined in clause (h) and clause (m) of section 2 of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006.
(xlib) “Micro & Small Startup” means an entity registered with Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry and as defined in clause (a) of paragraph 1 of the Gazette Notification having G.S.R. 127(E) dated 19th February, 2019”
• Clause A and B for Schedule V which states “All the Fees shall be paid in the manner prescribed” has been substituted.
This shall deemed to come into force on December 16, 2024.
