The Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) on December 20, 2024, issued a circular regarding changes incorporated in present E-Governance RPSL module for updating Seafarers' Engagement and Discharge Data (Article of Agreement / Form-I).
The following has been stated: -
•The Directorate General of Shipping has extended the time for updating seafarer's engagement and discharge data (Article of Agreement/Form-I) from 15 to 30 days, effective immediately, to address operational challenges faced by RPS companies. This includes extending the time for on-board changes (rank, vessel, flag, etc.) from 15 to 30 days.
•If updates are missed, corrections can be made as per the earlier procedures outlined in Circular No. 02 of 2024. These changes aim to ease the process and ensure accurate sea service records for seafarers.
