The Government of Madhya Pradesh on December 16, 2024, issued the Madhya Pradesh Municipalities (Second Amendment) Bill, 2024, to further amend the Madhya Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1961
The following has been stated namely: -
• Section 43A(1) which states “No-Confidence motion against Speaker or Vice-President” the following has been amended namely: -
o In the opening paragraph, for the words "two-thirds", the words "three-fourths" shall be substituted.
o In clause (a) of the proviso, for the words "two years", the words "three years" shall be substituted.
• The Madhya Pradesh Municipalities (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2024 has been repealed.
