The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) on December 19, 2024, issued the Fertiliser (Inorganic, Organic or Mixed) (Control) (Sixth) Amendment Order, 2024 further to amend the Fertiliser (Inorganic, Organic or Mixed) (Control) Order, 1985.
The following amendments have been stated:
• After clause 28 B, the following clause shall be inserted, namely:-
“(28BA) in case of Nano fertiliser, out of three parts made by the inspector as per the procedure specified in Schedule –II, one part shall be sent to either Tamil Nadu Agriculture University, Coimbatore or to National Test House, Ghaziabad and one part shall be given to the manufacturer or dealer and the third part shall be kept in custody of designated authority".
• In Schedule II , Part A of the said order, after serial number 9 and the entries relating thereto, the following serial number and entries shall be inserted, namely:-
“ 10. Method of sampling of Nano fertilisers”
(i) The Fertiliser Inspector shall take three bottles as sample of the same batch and the label affixed on these samples shall be defaced and a label containing the generic name, date of sampling and code number shall be pasted on the bottle and the sample shall be kept in cloth bag, sealed with Inspector seal.
(ii) The sealed cloth bag containing sample along with form ‘P’ shall be kept in another cloth bag and sealed with inspector seal and identifiable details such as code number, date of sampling, generic name of Nano fertiliser shall be put on the cloth bag.
(iii) Out of three samples collected, one sample sealed shall be sent to Tamil Nadu Agriculture University or National Test House under clause 29 (1D) and another sample shall be given to manufacturer or dealer, as the case may be and the third sample shall be sent by the inspector to the designated authority notified under clause 28A for safe custody”.
It shall come into force on December 19, 2024.
