The Government of Uttar Pradesh on December 18, 2024, issued the Uttar Pradesh Multi Modal Logistics Park Policy 2024.
The following has been stated: -
•India's logistics industry, valued at US$ 215 billion in 2020, is expected to grow to US$ 360 billion by 2032. Despite its potential, logistics costs in India are high, accounting for 13-14% of GDP, compared to the international benchmark of 7-8%.
•The sector faces challenges such as high road transportation costs, low rail usage, and inefficient warehousing. To improve efficiency, the development of multi-modal logistics parks and larger trucks is essential, with some countries like the US offering grants for such infrastructure.
