The Government of Himachal Pradesh on December 17, 2024, issued the Draft Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj (General) Amendment Rules, 2024 to further amend the Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj (General) Rules, 1997.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Rule 2(1) (bb) which defines “Bonafide Resident” the following shall be substituted, namely:- “bonafide resident shall mean a person who has been issued a bonafide Himachali Certificate by a Competent Revenue Officer”
• In rule 10 which states “Register of proceedings” the following sub-rule (1- A) shall be added, namely: -
“The proceedings of the meeting may also be recorded online in the format and software, as may be made available by the Panchayati Raj Department”.
• They shall come into force from the date of publication in Rajpatra (e-Gazette) Himachal Pradesh but the provision of Rule 3 will come in force from such date as may be notified by the State Government.
Objections and Suggestions may be sent to Director Panchayati Raj, Himachal Pradesh within 30 days from December 17, 2024.
