The Department of Legal Metrology on December 20, 2024, issued the Goa Legal Metrology (Amendment) Rules, 2023, to further amend the Legal Metrology Act, 2009.
The following has been amended namely: -
• Entry No. 12 of Schedule III which states “Linear Measuring Instruments” the following has been substituted namely: -
“Taximeter – 300.00
Auto rikshaw meters – 200.00
Other Instruments – 100 for the 1st 1000 meters or part thereof plus 10 for every additional 100 meters or part thereof subject to maximum of 5000.00 per unit.”
This shall come into force on April 01, 2024.
