The Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) on August 27, 2024, issued a circular regarding Detonator manufacturing licenses granted under LE-1 of Explosives Rules, 2008 - phasing out of Electric Detonators.
The following has been stated: -
•The Gazette Notification dated September 29, 2023, mandates the complete phasing out of Electric Detonators by March 31, 2025.
•Electronic Detonator manufacturers are urged to increase production capacity. Electric Detonator manufacturers are advised to meet their phasing-out target by December 2024, ahead of the original deadline.
