The Goods and Service Tax Network (GSTN) on December 23, 2024, issued an advisory for the Entry of Receipt Numbers Pertaining to Leased Wagons in the E-Way Bill System.
The following has been stated: -
•This advisory provides instructions for entering Receipt Numbers for Leased Wagons in the E-Way Bill (EWB) system. Taxpayers must prefix Receipt Numbers with "L" and follow a specific format (L <Receipt Number>) when transporting goods via Leased Wagons.
•The changes will be effective from January 01, 2025. Any discrepancies in the entry will trigger an alert for correction.
