EHS ComplianceThe Government of Karnataka on September 17, 2024, issued a circular regarding the implementation of Solid Waste Management Rules in Urban Local Bodies within the prescribed time frame and submission of reports from time to time.

The following has been stated: -

•The National Green Tribunal has directed urban local bodies in the state to prioritize and fully manage solid and liquid waste as per the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016, with progress to be reported by February 2025. Waste generators must segregate waste into green, dry, and hazardous categories and comply with disposal guidelines. 

•District administrations are required to review and guide local bodies on waste management every 15 days. The District Collector must approve proposals and ensure compliance for sustainable waste management.
