The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on December 18, 2024, issued a circular regarding the Transition of existing CAR-145 organizations to the new requirements of CAR-145 Issue 3.
The following has been stated: -
•DGCA's CAR-145 Issue 3, effective from January 01, 2025, introduces significant changes, including implementing a Safety Management System (SMS) for maintenance organizations. Existing CAR-145 Issue 2 Rev. 5 organizations must comply with Issue 3 by June 30, 2026, addressing non-compliance findings.
•Key changes involve safety policy updates, hazard identification, staff competence, and compliance monitoring.
•The transition process involves steps outlined in Sections II and III of the AAC, with DGCA's actions in Section IV.
