EHS ComplianceThe Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) on February 15, 2024, issued a circular regarding amendment in the Pre-processing /Co-processing of Hazardous Waste in the State of Maharashtra.

The following has been stated: -

•The MPCB has amended its Circular dated August 23, 2022, regarding the pre-processing/co-processing of hazardous waste in Maharashtra. 

•The amendment mandates that hazardous waste disposal for industries in the operational areas of CHWTSDF at Ranjangaon and Butibori must go through pre-processing at these facilities for up to 20 years or until site closure. Industries outside these areas must use authorized pre-processing facilities. 

•Additional guidelines from CPCB and compliance with hazardous waste rules are also required.
