EHS ComplianceThe Punjab State Pollution Control Board, (PSPCB), on August 10, 2024, issued a notification regarding the Registration Mandate for PIBOs and PWPs on the Centralized EPR Portal.

Directives issued under the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016, mandating registration of Producers, Importers, Brand Owners (PIBOs), Plastic Waste Processors (PWPs), and manufacturers of plastic products on the centralized Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) portal developed by CPCB.

Entities failing to comply with the guidelines of the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC) and registering on the portal are liable for action, including environmental compensation. Businesses must also ensure dealings only with registered entities, as stipulated in the EPR guidelines. The public is urged to report violations to PPCB's regional offices or designated email.
