The Davanagere City Corporation, Karnataka on September 25, 2024, notified regarding the management of used water generated in urban local bodies.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states the measures to be taken by urban local bodies to keep systems and processes adequate to ensure that no untreated waste/used water is released into water bodies and reused.
• It outlines the roles and responsibilities of City/Local Bodies. It states that by focusing on efficient wastewater management, they aim to improve cleanliness and hygiene.
• It further outlines the Deputy Commissioners Roles and Responsibilities. It focuses on sustainable water resource management, compliance with wastewater regulations, and enforcement against violations.
