The Ministry of Communications on December 24, 2024, issued a notification regarding taking action against Spoofed International Calls to Combat Cyber Fraud.
The following has been stated: -
•The Department of Telecommunications has launched a system to prevent spoofed international calls, blocking 90% of such calls within two months.
•The system identifies calls disguised as Indian numbers, reducing fraud. Citizens are urged to report suspicious calls via the Sanchar Saathi portal, and TSPs are working on solutions to display "International Call" for calls from outside India.
