The Industries & Commerce Department, Andhra Pradesh on October 26, 2024, issued the Andhra Pradesh Food Processing Policy (4.0) 2024-29.
The following has been stated namely: -
• This policy will replace the Food Processing Policy 2020-25.
• The policy shall apply to new and expansion projects, requiring units to obtain Consent for Operation (CFO) and start production within the policy period. Investments in agri-allied segments with edible end-use units in Andhra Pradesh are eligible for incentives and boosters.
• It aims to enhance the state's position as a food processing hub by formalizing and developing MSMEs, fostering innovation, expanding infrastructure, and promoting value addition, sustainability, and exports. This will boost local growth, global competitiveness, and employment, benefiting farmers, rural entrepreneurs, and industries.
• It offers 100% reimbursement of stamp duty for land purchases, leases, mortgages, and hypothecations (one-time only) and 100% reimbursement of land conversion fees for all investment bands (MSME, Large, Mega).
