The Government of Kerala on December 26, 2024, issued the Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development (Amendment) Bill, 2024, to further amend the Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Act, 1993.
The following has been stated namely: -
• In section 30 (1), the words and symbols “shall, on conviction, be punished with fine which may extend to ten thousand rupees” shall be substituted with the words and symbol “shall be liable to a fine, as may be prescribed”.
• In section 30 (2), the words “shall be punished with fine which may extend to five thousand rupees” shall be substituted with the words and symbol “shall be liable to a fine, as may be prescribed”.
• Section 42 and Section 43 of the principal Act shall be omitted.
• After section 48, a new section shall be inserted, namely: - “48A. Power of Officers of Government to impose fine”.
