Industry Specific ComplianceThe Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC), on December 24, 2024, issued the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Deviation Settlement Mechanism and Related Matters) (First Amendment) Regulations, 2024, to further amend the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Deviation Settlement Mechanism and Related Matters) Regulations, 2024.

This shall come into force with effect from December 23, 2024.

The following has been stated namely: -

• In regulation 3 (1) (g), after the words “that are capable of generating power in a given time block” the following words shall be inserted “and shall be limited to the quantum of connectivity granted”.

• In regulation 3 (1) (j), before the words “in case of captive consumption of a captive generating plant based on renewable energy sources” the following words shall be inserted “in respect of a WS seller or a MSW seller or such other entity as applicable, selling power through open access to a third party or”.

• In regulation 3 (1) (y), before the words “‘in case of captive consumption of a captive generating plant based on resources other than renewable energy sources” ” the following words shall be inserted “in respect of a general seller selling power through open access to a third party or”.

• In Regulation 8 clause (8) shall be substituted.
