The Government of Rajasthan on December 30, 2024, notified the Rajasthan Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2024 to further amend the Rajasthan Motor Vehicles Rules, 1990.
The following has been stated-
•The existing rule 4.14 of the Rajasthan Motor Vehicles Rules, 1990 shall be substituted, 4.14. “Production of Motor Vehicle before Registering Authority.- The Registering Authority shall, before registering a new vehicle whose body is fabricated separately or assigning a new registration mark under sub-section (1) of section 47 of the Act, require the dealer, owner or purchaser of the vehicle, as the case may be, to produce the motor vehicle before him or before the Motor Vehicle Inspector or Motor Vehicle Sub-Inspector authorised by him, so that the Registering Authority may satisfy himself about the correctness of particulars of the motor vehicle mentioned in the form of application for registration or assigning of new registration mark and complies with the provisions of Chapter VII of the Act and the rules made thereunder."
