The Ministry of Mines (MoM) on December 31, 2024, issued the Offshore Areas Mineral Conservation and Development Rules, 2024.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Shall apply to all minerals in the offshore areas, except mineral oils and hydrocarbons related thereto.
• The Controller General or an officer of the Indian Bureau of Mines, authorised in writing by the Controller General shall be the competent authority to take decisions with respect to approval and modification of an exploration plan
• The Reconnaissance and Exploration Operations has been stated in Chapter II
• The Production Operation has been stated in Chapter III
• The Notices and Returns has been stated in Chapter VII
This shall come into force on December 31, 2024.
