The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) on January 03, 2025, issued a notification regarding the implementation of Stage-III of GRAP in NCR to Combat Deteriorating Air Quality by CAQM.
The following has been stated: -
•The CAQM Sub-Committee invoked Stage III of the revised Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in the entire NCR, effective immediately, due to the deteriorating air quality.
•Delhi's AQI crossed 350, with forecasts suggesting prolonged adverse conditions. Under Stage III, stricter measures include halting high-pollution construction activities, closing stone crushers and mines, and limiting BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel vehicle operations.
•Schools are advised to shift to a hybrid mode for classes up to grade V, and public offices may stagger working hours. Citizens are urged to reduce pollution by using cleaner transport, avoiding coal or wood for heating, and working from home when possible.
