The Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) on January 02, 2025, notified regarding the non-compliance or contravention of any provisions of the Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas Act, 2021.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It addresses the dust pollution from construction activities on plots smaller than 500 square meters in cities adjoining Delhi, including Gurugram, Faridabad, NOIDA, Greater NOIDA, Ghaziabad, and Sonipat.
• It emphasizes that Municipal and urban local bodies (ULBs) in these cities are advised to effectively supervise and monitor dust pollution control measures for these projects.
• It mandates these local authorities to implement effective measures to control dust emissions and ensure compliance with environmental standards to mitigate air pollution in the National Capital Region.
