EHS ComplianceThe Government of Himachal Pradesh on January 04, 2025, issued a notification to amend Order No. FFE-B-A(3)-4/99, dated September 10, 2002, for temporarily regulating, restricting and prohibiting throughout the areas in Himachal Pradesh (Except the areas falling within the limits of Municipal Corporation, Municipal Councils, Nagar Panchayats and Cantonment Boards).

The following amendments in the said orders are as stated below:

• For Para 1 of the order dated 10th September, 2002, the following shall be substituted, namely:- 

“1. the cutting of trees or timber and removal thereof in such areas shall be prohibited except for the following species of trees: Safeda, Poplar, Bamboo culms/Lathi bans/Maggar/ Dharainch/Bans

Provided that there will be no prohibition or restrictions on the number of trees to be felled for the purpose of bonafide domestic uses of fodder and fuel: 

Provided further that the owners may, for their bonafide domestic and agricultural use, fell up to three trees each year without permission. Any felling of more than three trees requires written permission from the competent authority, i.e., the Divisional Forest Officer concerned: 

Provided also that trees of Khair shall be felled for sale in accordance with the ten-year felling programme, which may be framed by the officers of the Forest Department and approved by the State Government
