Industry Specific ComplianceThe Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) on January 03, 2025, issued an order regarding the powers to decide the applications for consent to operate for the mining of sand and other minor mineral projects.

It is stated that vide board's Office Order no. 346 dated October 05, 2023, the powers to decide the applications for consent to operate for mining of sand and other minor mineral projects were delegated to the Environmental Engineer posted at Regional Offices of the Board upto December 31, 2023, with the stipulation that the orders will be reviewed in the intervening period.

It is hereby further extended up to June 30, 2025.

The applications submitted by the project proponent shall be duly considered with the following documents:

• Provisional acceptance letter for mining cluster, issued by Executive Engineer cum District Mining Officer.

• Undertaking that the project proponent is complying with all the conditions imposed in EC granted to it under the provisions of the EIA notification, 2006 and sand mining shall be done at sites identified in the District Survey.

• Documents as per Punjab Pollution Control Board office order dated February 24, 2014, like Compliance report (in case of NOC/EC granted), CA Certificate showing un-depreciated value of the fixed assets, site plan, location plan, Partnership deed/Proprietorship/MOA, revenue certificate w.r.t. distances from various geographical indicators, consent to operate fee as per Board's order dated October 29, 2018 are to be furnished.

The Consent to Operate shall be granted, extended upto June 30, 2025.
