The Labour Department, Delhi on January 03, 2025, issued a notification regarding the addition to Schedule-1 of the Delhi Shops and Establishments Act, 1954.
The following has been stated: -
•The Lt. Governor of Delhi has added four establishments to the Schedule of the Delhi Shops and Establishments Act, 1954, granting them certain exemptions under Section 16. These include provisions on working hours, overtime pay, shift work, employee safety, legal benefits, and wage payments.
•Employers must comply with conditions like biometric record maintenance, CCTV installation, and providing compensatory leave. These exemptions do not override other government regulations.
