The Goods and Sales Taxes Network, (GSTN) on January 08, 2025, issued a notification regarding the Advisory for Biometric-Based Aadhaar Authentication and Document Verification for GST Registration.
The GST registration process now includes amendments under Rule 8 of the CGST Rules, 2017, introducing biometric-based Aadhaar authentication and document verification for applicants identified based on risk parameters. This feature, implemented in Rajasthan from January 7, 2025, enables applicants to either complete OTP-based Aadhaar authentication or book an appointment at a GST Suvidha Kendra (GSK) for biometric verification and document checks.
Applicants must carry original documents, Aadhaar and PAN cards, and appointment confirmations when visiting GSKs. ARNs will be generated post-verification, ensuring streamlined registration.
