The Government of Himachal Pradesh on January 01, 2025, issued a notification regarding the extension of the One-Time Motor Vehicle Tax Waiver for Vehicle Scrapping.
The following has been stated: -
•The Governor of Himachal Pradesh has extended the one-time waiver of Motor Vehicle Tax (including Token/Road Tax and Special Road Tax) for old vehicles being scrapped at Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities (RVSF).
•This waiver also covers associated interest and penalties. The initiative aims to encourage vehicle owners to scrap their old vehicles under the Motor Vehicles (Registration and Functions of Vehicles Scrapping Facility) Rules, 2021.
•This decision modifies the previous notification dated February 09, 2024.
This notification shall be valid only up to March 31, 2026.
